Has anyone else seen an problem when completing a pool swim that the watch isn't displaying distance or lengths? It's happening intermittently for the last couple of years and it's fixed by a restart of the watch (I've not yet tried just closing and reopening the app).

I'll swim a couple of lengths, see the watch hasn't updated the display except for the timer and possibly the calorie count. If I stop the workout and go to the summary screen, the lengths and distance swam is then shown correctly. I've noticed this on a couple of series 2 and possibly a series 3 watch.

Had the same problem with Iwatch 4. Worked with apple engineers for 5 months with no fix. Why?

I've had the same thing happen to me twice in 6 months of swimming. As you said, a restart cures it for the time being. It hasn't bothered me enough to ask Apple about it.

Had it happen several times, the only solution seems to be to restart the watch.

It does, however, always seem to record the session properly and you can see it in the app later.

Frustrating to hear that it's effecting other users and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Glad it doesn't happen that often but with the only fix a restart of the watch which takes a while and you're already in the pool it's more than a little annoying.

Agreed, these days I do one length and check it on the way back (since there's a little time for it to register turnaround) that way I haven't gone far before correcting it. I prefer to do this because I do my swim workouts without stops.
