I have had my Apple Watch for a little over a week and am a big fan of the workout app and the fitness tracking in general. I have a couple of questions related to the stock workout app though and was hoping someone could help me with:
  • Is there a way to keep the watch from defaulting to the workout app every time I activate the screen during a workout? I like to see all the data during a run or a walk, but it is kind of annoying to have to use the dock to switch to the music app every time I want to adjust volume or change the song. I also play pick up soccer after work and use the watch to keep the time for the game. I set up a modular face with a timer complication for this purpose and would rather have that show up when I raise my wrist and keep the workout app just running in the background.
  • Speaking of soccer, what's the best workout to use for that activity? Other?
  • How much more information is gathered during a workout compared to the normal activity tracking done throughout the day? Do I lose anything if I don't start a formal workout during a soccer game but just wear the watch?
Thanks in advance!
