Hello MR Members,

I was once a hardcore wow player. I am considering to start playing some again. Just wondering what the game is like now? I picked up the MOP expansion and played for 1 week at the start but didn't have the time to keep playing. I believe i am like level 87. Do you still have to do a ton of dailies for gear and such?

Thanks
Tech

There are a ton of dailies in MOP, although you can gear up through the usual other ways - LFR, dungeons, world bosses. The regular quest lines give good enough gear to get started with the dungeons. All in all I find it quite a good expansion that did get me interested in WOW again.

No expert, but that's what I've learn since I'm back to wow since a month now.

I was a raider in vanilla and Lich King and I can say that the biggest change for me is the Looking For Raid, that's the place to get geared for guild runs. So the LFR have lower ilevel of gear than "guild runs", but easier and less drama (if you win a gear, the server give it to you, since there's no roll you need to do on every boss and no ninja Master looter) the server control you get what by random.

You just need to have a certain ilevel of gear to be able to go in Heroic 5-man (really easy to get) and another ilevel for Looking For Raid (takes more time to get to the ilevel if you don't do dailies and only going by Heroic 5-man. Like you need an average of 460 gear and heroic give you 463. And for the 5-man, the wait time is really fast (like 10-15 minutes for a DPS) so you do some dailies while waiting, you get money fast, tokens for higher ilevel of gear and rep. I think it's faster if you buy some Epic BOE since there ilevel is around 478.

What class do u play? I thinking about leveling a monk healer? Just letting the game download while i am at work and debating if i really want to play again

DPS warrior with a few alts that I try leveling but don't really enjoy as much.

Before i left the game i played a resto druid. I have all the healer to atleast 85 besides a monk. I think i will start playing again this week and slowly level a monk when i get the time

the newest raid is very fun. at least on LFR. once you start doing LFR, as a healer, you'll have the shortest queue times. But if you're just starting out, that will be a while :)

I agree. the whole 5.2 patch is quite cool, the Isle of Thunder has been a lot of fun so far!

Lately, I too was thinking about returning to WoW, but do you think Blizzard is really going to cut it at level 100?

I'm a little hesitant to start playing again. Don't wanna get addicted lol

The nice thing now, is that you can get more done in less time. I like the raid dungeons but previously would need to spend a lot of time gearing up, then finding a group and then hoping the group didnt suck. Now i just spend a few hours a week using LFR to raid the bosses i want to raid. If the group sucks, i can leave it and queue up again

i started playing again recently maybe 2-3 months ago or maybe little longer i forget haha. i stopped playing around the end of cata. at this time i have 4 lvl 90s with around 465+ilvl i'm not sure i think it's because i took about a year break i love it again. i also have a few alts around 87, that i think i'll eventually level.

MOP has a lot of daily/rep grind *but it's kinda always been like that* i myself never really liked dailies but i do like the ToT ones. maybe try it out for a month? and yes you can get a lot more done in less time now, i'm not a hardcore raider *used to in bc/wotlk* much much easier to get gear now. LFR makes it a lot easier to get gear and see content without being in a raiding guild. i play a few hours and can get a lot done and still do other things.

Hey, is there anybody on the forum that is still playing this game. I haven't played since 2011 and kind of interested in coming back and giving it a try. The last time i thought about playing it was full of dailies and i heard was kind of grind and boring as hell

I just came back to the game a couple of weeks ago. MOP is ok so far. I'm sure once I hit 90 and start doing dungeons, I will enjoy it more.

MoP leans towards casual players more than any other previous expansion. Plenty of things to do, some nice, some boring. I've found the leveling 85 -> 90 being its weakest part (leveling in pandaria areas are just ugly). But at level 90 it has some fun. Eventually it becomes boring of course, but this expansion is worthing to play for a while.

I'm still playing and enjoying it. I found that leveling of your first character to 90 was fun but, by time you get your 6th character to 90, leveling through questing is no fun. My last character, I leveled from 85 to 90 almost entirely through pet battles (It was also by far the quickest and easiest way I hit 90).

You can gear up quickly with epics from Timeless Isle. My rogue has a gear score of 531 and I haven't raided with my rogue at all (all crafted and timeless isle gear).
