That is pretty cool... although I don't think it would be very useful for stuff other than browsing the web, mail and listening to music...stuff the iPhone does.

Although I if you had a file of some sort that you needed to show you could do that.

That was pretty neat. I wonder if he had to make any modifications in order to install it. I am pretty sure that OS X is picky about what hardware will successfully work with it.

OQO Hacked to run Leopard, worlds smallest Mac?

Some really ambitious guy went out and stuck OSX on an OQO. I want one! It's interesting since the OQO guys are all former Apple employees that approached Steve about making a sub compact Mac in 2002

that had to take some effort i'm sure, and it doesn't look as though it runs super smooth, but awesome what's possible. if there was a mobile version of leopard i'm sure we'd have seen this sooner or on an eee pc.

I wonder if you could load the iPhone/iPod touch OS on something like that. Think about how fast that thing would run!

With all the Jailbroken apps and such, I think that would be a viable sub-compact. Think about the OQO running iPod touch firmware! It would be a bit clumsy running it with a pointer device, but I think it would still be pretty freaking cool!

I doubt it, OQO uses Intel architecture, the iPhone does not... it would have to be emulated.

It maybe the slow, but the fact that you can do all what the iphone can do and then some make it worth it(minus the actual phone calls, unless you add evdo/3g to it then skype for calls). The key advantage this has over the iphone and touch, for me is the fact I can run VLC on this, which means every single file I have can be easily played on this.

Man, I used to want an OQO quite badly! I'd really like a similar thing from Apple since this OQO doesn't handle OSX all that quickly.

And the OQO has no touchscreen, so you wouldn't be able to use it :p

Which is why I said it would be clumsy to use it with a pointer device ;)

And admin, thanks for merging our threads :)

Actually the smallest OSX is the iphone/ipod touch

But, as a fellow hackontsher, that is sick, and mad props to the guy who got it to work!

This thing is great to make presentations. Carry it in your pocket and use it for the presentation. Much better than having to carry a full large and heavy laptop.

It has been on a Eee pc since the first month. Hell there are people running eee pc with a touch screen and osx.
