iPhone Worried about whatsapp messenger

Hi

I as most people do I use whatsapp on the iPhone and am quite concerned about the security measures. I have read stories about the possibility of my messages being read by the likes of a 'whatsapp sniffer' etc.

My question is does anyone know if I use whatsapp from home on my personal encrypted broadband (wifi) if anyone can hack into my system and view my messages?? Not really that bothered if anyone can see the number, just the content of the messages.

Please help anybody!!!

The problem I have is that the time I used Whatsapp was before that time, May and June of last year!!!

Will be messages be hanging about somewhere???!!! Is it likely they have been hacked?
