I love me my polls!

Which OS version was the worst, most disasterous, and truly a hot mess for you at .0 (newly released)?

For me, I'd vote 10.9 (Mavericks). Putrid, awful OS throughout 10.9.5. Talk about a steaming pile of a hot mess. Glitches abound, filed many bug reports. Had to downgrade to 10.8, and was thrilled when Yosemite came out, which provided to be way more sturdy and stable from .0 onwards. 10.13 (High Sierra) comes in a close second.

I don’t remember Mavericks being that bad. In my opinion it was 10.7 Lion. Major stability issues. More kernal panics on that than any other version that I can think of.

The problem with this poll is that users usually forget their past experience especially if there is something new that makes them nuts. Therefore I'm not surprised that Catalina leads this poll.

As for me, I really don't like a "deep" integration of Catalina to cloud services. Music and TV apps almost useless unless you have a subscription and are willing to pay money.

Mavericks was an awesome OS from beginning to end. Much, much better than Lion or Yosemite, and the last version usable via a spinner. In order of greatness I would say:

Catalina
El Cap
Mavericks
Snow Leopard
Tiger

Yosemite for me, though I did pick Lion for honourable mention. 10.10 was the worst release by far in my experience: randomly slow and laggy UI, Macs unable to wake from sleep, 3D graphics/drivers issues making games and some software unusable... could make a huge list. Those problems never went away on my machines either, even with a clean install. Fortunately El Capitan fixed everything.
