worth installing XP on a 120GB HDD MB ?

hi all, i'm new here and would like to ask for some advices... i have a MacBook C2D 2.2G w/ 2G ram that has a 120GB harddisk..

i have been thinking to install XP on the Macbook for gaming purpose. i do aware that installing XP will require quite a bit of hard disk space and since i bought the mac for audio recording purpose... i wouldn't want to get the Mac too fed up by games..

could someone tell me how much space does XP take? would Time Machine let me resume the Mac to a Pre-XP setting and even without the partition....since i am not a big gamer,i may just get bored in a few weeks and removing XP from my Mac would be the first thing i would like to do (been a mac user for the last 3 years and not a windows person at all...)

or there is a better way to get around?

MacBook's hard drive replacement is much easier than MacBook Pro, You just remove the battery then remove the small cover from memory and remove the small wall from battery counterpart then pull hard drive out, that all.

250GB or 320GB HDD is recommended if you want install more games on windows via bootcamp.

FWIW that's just a free space requirement. There is also a minimum volume size requirement for the installer, which I believe is 4 GB, and don't forget to allocate space for a swap file. Vista won't install on anything under 15 GB.

Furthermore nLite allows you to remove some things you might not need if you really want a lightweight install.

No, Apple don't void the warranty on HDD replacement from MacBook, only if you make any damage to parts due HDD replacement then you wouldn't service under warranty, not entire of MB.

It does same applies to MBP too, just be careful and think about it before start it but MBP would be much worse.

balamw is right, Win XP is only about take 3GB-4GB from my HDD space, I think it was due SP2 add-on to fix the numerous bugs.

no, I thought he was saying even windows xp only occupies 1.5G space, it will not install on any partition smaller than 4G?

just read through the whole pdf but it didn't mention anything about HDD spec. does it mean it will take any HDD?

You need SATA based HDD, HDD inch is 2.5, just like HDD for laptops.

HDD replacement from MB is just like HDD replacement from PS3.

I didn't want my XP to take up too much space, either. I gave my XP 16 GB. Turns out I was being generous. Runs just fine.
