I have a 21.5 inch base model imac. It appears to have moderate yellowing on the bottom 1/3 of the screen so thinking about returning it today when I go to the Apple Store for my broken iphone. I was thinking about jumping to the 21.5 with the 1TB drive and dedicated graphics card if I do exchange. Is it worth the jump? Thanks

Don't get your hopes up, I doubt they'll let you upgrade with the exchange.

If the OP is still within the 14 days doing an upgrade on the exchange should be no problem! Apple loves it when you decide to upgrade and buy a more expensive system. :D Not sure why you would write what you did.

I agree...just as long as you are within that 14 days you can upgrade, downgrade, return. You will probably end up paying a restocking fee though if you upgrade.

Well, yeah, within 14 days, and WITH a 10% restocking fee. Hardly seems worth it then.

I agree. Going to keep what I have. Was also a bit unhappy about the yellowish tint on the screen but not bad enough to warrant risking something worse. Gonna enjoy this one

Yes, that is true but I bought it Black Friday for $100 off so I would have to pay the difference to upgrade and the $100 as well.

Now that is a completely different issue than whether or not you can upgrade without having to pay the restocking fee on a damaged Mac. You should have said that from the beginnning.
