1. depends on what you do. most likely not at the moment

2. not sure yet, but i'd guess the new FCS will

1.maybe, depending on what you're running on it. It basically loves CPU intensive apps.

2. Modo 203, Maya 8.5, Mathematica, Linpack seem to work good on the 8-core Mac Pro.... anything on this page http://www.apple.com/macpro/performance.html that does better on the 8-core than the 4-core
