So I'm still on iOS9 on an iPhone 6S 64GB. I usually don't upgrade with the first major release of an OS but wait a few updates. Now that there has been is iOS10 worth the upgrade from iOS9? If for some reason I don't like it can I go back or would I be stuck? I do backup my phone to my Mac regularly.

You can't go back to iOS 9 once you upgrade.

As to your question about whether the update is worth it or not, you will get mixed answers. Some say go for it (I would), and some say don't do it. Some people experience actual problems with firmware updates, and others do not.

For what it's worth, I'm personally quite happy with 10.2. Do some research and see if the improvements are what you would like / need, and go from there.

Security updates alone would make it worth it for me, to be honest.

Hmm okay. Would I need MacOSX Sierra for iOS10? I have El Cap now. I also noticed that on the MAS there are no ratings or reviews for Sierra which I find odd.

I probably would stay on iOS 9, unless there are lots of features you really want in iOS 10

dont fix what isn't broken is wise advise in 2016 Apple quality control or lack thereof with software,

Yeah true. Is there a way to turn off the "update now" pop that comes up when unlocking the phone?

IMO for a change iOS 10 is faster than 9 in some areas on the 6s. It's basically up to what your preference is or what your reasons are for not updating.

My 6s and SE run iOS 10 perfectly fine. I'm still holding out my iPad Mini 2 from updating to iOS 10 because it's pretty smooth running iOS 9.3.5 as is.

Some features such as Apple Pay in Safari will require Sierra. Otherwise, you'll be fine.
The ratings were removed probably because only people with broad issues rate the OS. I seen some pretty stupid reasons for someone giving a 1 star rating.
