as much as i know, logically, i should be more patient and wait on ebay and MR community to respond to my WTB (see sig)...

do you guys think these two are worth the price? taking into account that they are directly from apple with the nice warrenty, and their lack of upgrades (if i get them from ebay and stuff, potentially for the same price i'll get some upgrades) (i know refurbs sometimes have surprise upgrades, but i shall not expect them)

2.0 dual core PM G5

2.3 dual core PM G5

thanks

when comparing used to refurbished, warranty always wins, assuming the price gap isn't too big

refurbished could be the g5 that somebody took it in 3 times for repair and they finally gave him a new one. It was sent back to apple, fixed, tested, and shipped out as a refurb.

it could also be an open box item that has been tested and certified.

and used is a known working machine with no problems, but a lot of mileage.

I'm confused why you'd consider a PowerMac G5 dual core 2.3 for $1,999 when just above that, they have a Mac Pro quad core 2.0 for $1,899. The Mac Pro also has twice the memory and a better video card. And in two years, you'll be able to swap out the dual core 2GHz chips for affordable dual or quad core chips for a minimal expense.
