Worth upgrading my GPU?

Hi,

Ive read a lot of threads about the compatability of the ATI 5770 in 2009 Mac Pros so i know it will work. But I can't find anyone who has upgraded from the stock GT120 to the ATI5770. I do most my work on Photoshop and Lightroom and i'm also getting more into Maya and i'm experiencing quite a bit of lagging in Maya and while playing back some HD animation.

Whould i notice a big performance gain in spending £200 on the 5770? I would have to buy it from Apple as i dont have access to windows to flash one from somewhere else.

ATI 5770 is a lot faster than GT 120. There should be a significant difference in CPU intensive tasks (I think Maya is).

I went from the GT120 to the 5770... Night/day difference. Do it, more than worth the money! Even the windows opening and closing are so much smoother and faster!

Im gonna go for it. Just need to pursuade the other half to let me spend more money on the Mac.
