Ok so I have been busy! I have missed this site tho... not been on for 6mnths. : (

Where was I ...? ok

I have a Sony Erricson P910i including salling clicker!!

I want to iSync the phone etc I love it; so for the first time I can upgrade and I'm not sure I want to?

Unless there is a better gadget that I MUST have. What you fink?

If youre happy with the phone then keep it, give the money to charity. Or save it.

If you like the P910i, I would wait and pick up the new Sony Ericsson P990 which is the upgraded version of your phone. If you want to buy something right now, I would check out any of the Nokia E or N series.

If you like your phone and it does everything(and more) you need it for I don't see a need for a new one.

...and it seems there is always a new one right around the corner...

My advise would be to hang on to the one you got.

Yesterday I had me delivered an Orange SPV M600. It is FANTASTIC - and my recent phone history is a P800, P900, P910, K750i.

Yes it's Windows Mobile, but it is WM5.0 - a HUGE improvement from before.

It supports 4Gb SD cards (I've just ordered one for £50), and SDIO (so you can turn it into a GPS).

It's got Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, EDGE support, a 2mp camera that eats the K750i's for breakfast, and also has Wifi b/g, along with support for Skype.

It made me a happy camper, after I got fed up waiting for that damn P990.

RegHardware did a great review here, and gave it 85%, after calling it the best Windows based smartphone. :D

I'm no fan of Windows, but mobile is actually pretty good.

They are a fantastic gadget - great size PDA and a fully functional phone to boot. I've got one and use the Beta version of the missing sync (www.markspace.com) which syncs it up great (if a little slowly due to it being Beta software) over USB or Bluetooth with my MBP.

Yeah, I need to get that too, just dont have the pennies to buy 2.0 right now :( spent all my money on the 4gb card!

I forgot to mention too, the handwriting recognition is second to none! nothing to learn, no odd lettering, and it just works immediately. so much better than that bloody T9 stuff.

On that note, do you know of a way to add to the T9 dictionary?

Thanks for all that feedback. I have made my decision! Wait for P990! I have just got a new P910i thro insurance the old one broke! So no rush ...

I have a free upgrade and as the company has a bunch of phones MY phone is a FREE any phone upgrade!

well the P990 was originally confirmed in June 2005 by a leaked press image. They hadn't wanted to announce it until January 2006.

I've got a few friends in high up places and they all say the same - it's ready, but until sales of the P910 slump, they're not releasing the 990. and the 910 is selling well.

It's been announced, there's been review models out, but I think it'll be at least a few more months before they become available to the public.

Check out the Sony Ericsson M600i, it's like a cross between the P990i and a Blackberry. I got one a few weeks ago and if you're wondering if the QWERTY keyboard is actually usable, yes! I got used to it pretty quick actually.

I had a P910i for ages and loved it. The M600i is even better, albeit for different reasons.

Note: not supported by iSync yet. I know, I was gutted too. Had to manually re-enter all my contacts. I expect it will be supported in the next update.

Check the phone out on the UK Sony Ericsson site.

Here in sweden theyre taking orders now.

Well my frined, it all depends, if things such as the touchscreen are what you're after then hold on tot the P910 and hold-out for the P990, which is gonna be huge, all the features of the P910 plus 3G, a a 2MP camera, etc

However, if you want to step away from Sony Ericsson, then as previously mentioned you could look at Nokia's E-series or N-series. Something like the N80, or N93 would be a perfect match, almost, but without obvious features such as touch-screen...

Cheers

I've ordered myself a Nokia N93 - I reckon its probably one of the best true convergence devices.

It has video camera quality vdieo recording, with a proper 3x optical zoom, 3.2mega pixel camera, PDA functionality on a par with anything else out there, supports 3.5G - the list goes on.

I'm not actually a nokia fan boy, my preference in the past having beeb Siemens. But the N93 just seems to good to let it slip by.

Wow, just went over to Sony-Ericsson, and it appears that it's time for a new phone. :p *wink wink, nudge nudge*

K750i is cheap and still good. The K790 and K800 Cybershot models are looking rather pimpin.
