Sorry if this is absurd ask but considering the new MacBook Pros are still pretty new

Assuming m2 smokes in compute and M1 pro only reigns supreme in gpu … how would ya feel

Suppose if it smokes the M1 Pro, who cares? If the M1 Pro isn’t fast enough, than the M2 will also be too slow and you should probably look for something like the Mac Studio or Mac Pro.

Even if the clock was faster on the M2, how does 4 performance/4 efficiency cores trump 8 performance/2 efficiency cores?
Also theres the question of memory bandwidth. I read the M1 has about 68.25GB/s, where the M1 Pro has 200GB/s, the M1 MAX is 400GB/s, but it's limited to something far less than that when tested. (260?)

So it be more like total disbelief I would vote for preferably.

Thinking that this is not that question that you ask for. Those are the real ones, with great performance, sound, battery life, and display, that you can't reach (meh eventually) on Windows laptops for that priсe.

If you asking for some dodgy or certain computing or gaming experience – a Windows-based rig is an option (cheaper and more powerful because of architecture) (Mac Pro if you're Oil Prince)

But if you're asking for a fabulous everyday buddy that you can count on – they both can handle it.

Generally, you can wait 20 years to bargain a much better Mac (hoping that it's doable) but it doesn't make any sense.

I bought my MBP in October and of course there will be improvements after its release. I guess I’d be more upset to have bough the last MBP a month before the M1 came out.

I got my Intel-based MacBook Pro because it was the best computer for me when I bought it. Of course I expected future MacBook Pros (or anything else) to be faster/cheaper/etc. That's hardly news. Why should it upset me that the newer/faster/cheaper MacBook Pros use a particular chip? Apple silicon, the fourth processor architecture to show up in Macs starting with the Motorola 68000 in 1984, is just another step along the predictable path of technology evolution. It isn't likely to be the last.
