would apple be able catch you if you Jailbreak ,, and wut to do after ??

i'm alwayz wondering if its possible to be cought by apple if u Jailbreak

umm ,, could they catch you ?,, cuz i wunna do it but i'm worried a bit

and if the catch u, are they gunna lock ur phone ??

have you ever heard of this happening to anyone?

they're not going to lock your phone as a punishment for hacking your phone. theres no way they'd get away with it.

they will, on the other hand, void your warranty if you were foolish enough to take your phone in while it was jailbroken.
 
Nope, not possible. It's your phone, you can do whatever you want with it, destroy it, brake it, play tennis with it. I surely wouldn't show your JB iphone with Cydia.app in the AT&T store though
 
They can't do anything, except refuse it for service. They won't come knocking on your door, and make you give it to them, or sue you. It's totally safe.

I refuse to respond to any user who uses words like "wut, alwayz, cought, u, cux, wunna, gunna, ur". Jesus, how aggressively illiterate can you become?
 
I go to the Apple store and show off my jailbroken unlocked iphone. I bought it and I will do what I want with it. Apple did not put up the $400 for it.
 
At most they'll void your warranty. As for being able to catch you, iTunes 8 does now detect (or try to) unofficial ipsw files. Whether that gets stored and reported, I'm not sure. The other obvious thing they could check is if you're visiting sites or using ports you normally wouldn't be using with an unJB phone. High bandwidth usage will also throw a red flag. They could have already blocked key domains (i.e. repositories) over 3G, but they haven't even done that. Basically, as long as you're not abusing the network, I don't think it's worth AT&Ts time to bother and I wouldn't worry about it.
 
first of all, they don't void your warranty as in sending some system-wide red flag that waves anytime you step foot near the genius bar from now on. they definitely might refuse to honor your warranty if they see its jailbroken and definitely will if you've unlocked. but you aren't banned from Apple service for the life of your 3G if they "catch" you with a hacked phone.

secondly, if you do need to get you iPhone serviced, a simple restore erases any traces of hacking that the geniuses will notice at the bar. any evidence would require SSHing into the file system and since you just restored you're all set.

which leads me to a caveat i live by with Pwning- as cool as the custom boot images are, they are a dead-giveaway if something does go wrong. you may find your iPhone stuck at the boot screen, and if your boot logo happens to be a pineapple, you might be out of luck. so my advice is to always keep the stock boot logos.
