I'm not saying they have to use bittorrent, as Apple would probably want to seemlessly integrate the tech into their app store, installer, etc, but it would be awesome, if they had an opt-in check box some place to "distribute as you download" or something like that, which would enable P2P bittorrent style downloads for music, videos, apps, etc. Seems like a win-win for everyone. We get faster, more reliable downloads. They get less server load. I can't get Yosemite downloaded!!!! Keeps crapping out!

Nah, I don't think you'll see any major company embrace bit torrent - it has a bad rap. I think at one point VMware did, though I don't think so any more.

I'm generally pleased with how things go with apple, so I don't see a need.

I'll have to agree to maflynn. I don't see a need for it either. P2P may complicate things more than help.

What other P2P technology exists then?

I know what you posted, but when people say P2P, they think bit torrent.

Again, I think its a solution in search of a problem - just my $.02
