Would you guys think Google would release an app that syncs Iphone Calendar to Googles.
Boy I hate to mention this here...but what about windows users?
I do not have a mac for a computer, but love me some google calender
BTW - next computer will be an apple laptop, going to be a couple years though..
It wouldn't be able to sync the calender without violating the SDK.
Would you guys think Google would release an app that syncs Iphone Calendar to Googles.
Pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about.
An app that would sync the Calender app with your Google calender would be modifying files outside of its "sandbox," thus violating the SDK rules.
I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. No need to apologize, you've already lost enough dignity.
I already have my Google synced to my windows but I guess the question how can I sync the Calendar from the PC to the iphone without having to have MobileMe...
There are a number of apps that sync iCal's data to Google Calendar already.
SDK = Software Development Kit. I don't think you are thinking of the right terms. It might be against the EULA for iCal or OSX but I doubt it. iCal uses the 'ical' calendar format.. which is used by Google and a number of other companies as it is.
Read the SDK rules for applications:
http://onemorething.nl/files/iphone_sdk_agt_608_final__wwdc08.pdf
Look at 3.3.4:
An application may write data on a device only to the Application's designated container area, except as otherwise specified by Apple.
That means that if Google were to write an App to do this, it couldn't write data anywhere but inside that app's own .app folder, thus it would not be able to sync the iPhone's Calender.
Unless Apple makes an exception for Google, which I doubt they would do.
What would be the best way to push/sync Google calendar with iPhone via MobileMe? They use Groupwise at work and I found someone that talked about forwarding appointments to a Google calendar then subscribing to the calendar in their Mac calendar app... I have been able to do this and now I see my work appointments on my Mac but I can't seem to figure out how to get them to push through MobileMe... Since I have subscribed to the Google calendar, it shows up in a different area in the Mac calendar and I do not see a way to sync that section through MobileMe...
The app doesn't have to reside on the iPhone though. Just like the windows app, resides on a windows based PC. This has nothing do with iPhone SDK and more to do with syncing between iCal and Google Calendar, which in turn can get synced to the iPhone via iTunes.. which takes the iCal data and puts it where necessary.
No SDK 'rules' are broken since this isn't an application that is specific to the iPhone.
Now you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. These programs already exist.

The OP was obviously asking for an iPhone app, and you just don't want to lose this argument.
Care to read the topic title again?
WILL GOOGLE RELEASE AN APP TO SYNC IPHONE CALENDAR. You avoid all the "SDK VOLIATIONS" by making the app (MADE BY GOOGLE) for the Mac to sync iCal<->Google Calendar. Then iTunes takes care of syncing to the iPhone. You totally derailed the thread with your holier than thou SDK propaganda! The first one is not made by google. The second one, while made by google does not have a mac counterpart.
You missed the whole concept of the read with your nilly willy SDK speaches.
