Merely my opinion. I always have a case on my mobile device, thus, to me the colour of the device is irrelevant.
I personally would not choose a device purely on colour...

EDIT: just read the post where you stated that you have ordered the iPhone. Enjoy.
I ordered the ESR Halolock Magsafe clear case with kickstand with my silver 14PM. Even the edges are clear so my silver/white phone will be shown.

I still don't get why my Mac Mini M2 takes more than a week to deliver while iPhone only takes 2 to 3 days?

Likely because the iPhones are coming from a warehouse in the US as they have plenty of stock. As for your Mac Mini M2. If it’s build to order and not the store confirmations then it does take more than a week since they have to build your Mac mini with the spec you wanted.

Unpopular opinion: I personally would have waited, in 5 months Apple will release one of the biggest redesigns in the iPhone lineup, and a big jump in performance/efficiency thanks to the switch to 3nm for the A17 that will power the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

For the people who buy regularly the newest or latest, it doesn’t really matter. But if the purchase is intended to be for many years, the 15 Pro and Pro Max will be worth the wait. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has an A16 chip, which is very similar to the A15 to be fair.

However, the 14 Pro Max is by no means a bad device, it’s great, just like the 13 Pro Max was. I’m just pointing out that this year’s Pro iPhones are going to be a especially big jump, with the new design, titanium chasis to make it lighter, and in the case of the 15 Pro Max, a periscope lens for the camera for the first time ever. For me it would have been worth the wait.

Anyway, if this is your first iPhone I’m sure you will enjoy it a lot with the Dynamic Island, the 120Hz display and the always-on display.

I was given money to buy the 14 Pro Max, but for the same price I could get the S23 Ultra or wait for the 15 Pro Max. The 14 Pro Max is already at its mid-cycle. Since, it's not my money, I am very grateful for such generously. I have not had a new phone since the Note 3!

The S23 Ultra has everything I want (especially lime green color), as I still have fond memories of my Note 3.

At the same time, I am returning to macOS and want to experience the Apple ecosystem for the very first time. iPhone 14 Pro Max allows me to do this, while S23 Ultra cannot. I do not like any of the colors in the Pro Max line up, compared to the 14 lines (yellow, product red, and purple).

What would you do in my shoe? Would you ask to buy the S23 Ultra instead (knowing that you are going to be using this phone for a decade or more), or stick with the 14 Pro Max since that what the money is for (and not upset the person that gave you the money).

Thanks
If you plan on using the phone for the next decade then the 14 Pro Max is far more future proof with how Apple keeps its phones updated for over 6 years.
However it sounds like you still have a major soft spot for Galaxy Note, I think the S23 Ultra will serve you better given how much you seem to prefer Android.

Apple, IMO, hasn’t made a meaningful change to its phone in years. Why would you expect that to change on the 15?
Because that’s what all the rumors point to.

There are super-cycles in iPhone (and other Apple products), such as the changes that came with iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone X, iPhone 12… and now with the iPhone 15 Pro, another super-cycle is about to start. Both in terms of design and functionality.

This makes so much sense. My configuration was not made to order (16/256) since I ordered from the Apple educational store instead of the regular Apple store. They only had 8/512 and the base model.

I would have as well, but this is not my own money. The fact that my sister gave me money for not only a new iPhone, not only a regular 14, but a top of the line 14 Pro Max with increase storage (256) is something unheard off! I believe the 15 PM/Ultra will be a significant upgrade, which is why I hesitated at first. There is a saying "Don't look a gift horse in its mouth"---not sure if that what this situation is LOL or what that phrase even means.

Android has more features/customizations but less connectivity. Since I'm moving into the Apple ecosystem for the very first time, having an iPhone will benefits me more in the long run.

Both android and iOS have its pros and cons. I have no brand loyalty to either one. Competition breed innovations, which is better for us consumers.

Now macOS on the other hand is superior to Windows outside of gaming for my use purposes.

It means...................To find fault with something that has been received as a gift or favor.
People used to judge the condition of a horse that they are considering buying by the condition of its teeth.
But if it's a gift, it's not appropriate to look in it's mouth for such a judgement or to find fault with it.
😃

I decided to keep the iPhone 14 Pro Max because it has made my life so much easier with my Mac Mini. Take a picture on Photobooth, share it with my sister via SMS and done! Couldn't be easier! I cannot do this with the S23 Ultra.

Being able to use my Mac Mini to receive/send text is a game-changer. I don't have to look at my phone every time there is an alert. I can also rename my contact list without having to do it on my iPhone.

Is there any way to mirror my iPhone screen on my Mac Mini?

Thanks
