If I did not understand things wrong, the current hack method is based on the 4.6 bootloader. So if apple upgrade the bootloader and fix the bug used for for the unlock software when launching the new 3G version, would the iphone still be hackable?

I read some news, saying that the new 2.0 firmware was unlocked by patching the bootloader, which I guess is 4.6 version. It is announced that "it is going to be extremely hard for Cupertino to close this new hole". But I am not sure about it cause of lack of proper information.

Anyone has any idea?

Easy way to illustrate this. If you lock a door, you always have a way to get back in, right? So either a key, or forced entry. Everything that makes anything secure always has an undo.
