to get an imac or mac mini. I have been using windows all my life. I dont really game too much but i like to every so often (counterstrike and guildwars) but i sort of want to get a mac. I can either pay about 500 to upgrade my pc or i can buy an imac and use bootcamp. But i dont know if getting a mac would be worth it because i think all of the ilife programs are great, but i would never use them i would only browse the internet go on forums and chat with people. So would it be worth it to pay $1000 for a imac or pay $500 to upgrade my pc?

Right now I think it would be almost crazy to buy a Mac Mini, considering it hasn't been updated in over 400 days, not to mention it was not using current technology even when it was updated last time around.

There are many rumors to suggest the Mini is getting redesigned for Macworld, so if you want one, wait until then.

The iMac itself is worth the extra $500. Much better specs, not to mention to awesome screen. It will last you a lot longer.

Also, when I first bought my Powerbook about 5 years ago, I thought I would only use it for Final Cut. After I began using OS X, I started using iLife/iWork a lot more than I thought I would. Now I use them very often and love them.

MacRumors has a very good buyers guide. Why not give it a look-see then come back with some final questions if you are still unclear as to what path to follow.

I myself got the Mac mini and used if for a little while then got an iMac and MBP. So be prepared for where this can lead. :apple::cool:
