This is speculation based on a bunch of rumours that have been popping up for the last few months. I want to know that if we assume that Apple is moving to offering some kind of subscription based option for iTunes, wouldn't a major incentive to have the subscription be including a service like Slacker Radio? I know that iTunes has a huge directory of radio stations, but I feel like Slacker Radio offers a much better option.
I don't know how big Slacker is as a company or if they would even consider something like this, but am just wondering if anyone else thinks that it would be a good combination.
It would, if combined with Apple, then present a legitimate threat to satellite radio because of all the iPhones that would always be able to listen to Slacker radio without needing a satellite receiver (I understand that Sirius XM also has an iPhone app but what I'm assuming is that Slacker is part of the iTunes subscription that people would be buying... and not an additional cost like satellite would be).
