I tried ios11 beta 1 and it was perfect on my iPad Pro 10.5 , then just jumped straight in with beta 2 which was awful,
i then waited read through everyone’s feelings with beta 3 installed it and it was great also beta 4 ,
I’ve held off on 5 and 6 as there has a been many problems it seems, but that’s betas for you.
Beta 4 on my iPad is superb.

If I were you I'd make the jump to the latest. The reason it seems like there's so many problems is because this is a forum where people come to discuss their issues and let the world know how much they hate something. I, for one, have used every beta and I'm 100% satisfied with PB5. I see the occasional UI glitch but that's what running a beta is all about. There's nothing I did on iOS 10 that I can't do with my phone today.

YMMV, obviously. Store an encrypted backup and go back if need be.

I use iOS PB5 on both my iPhone 6S+ and my 1st Generation iPad Pro 12.9, which is almost my daily driver. I’ve not yet had any problems. I did not put it on my iPhone 7+ as that is as close to a daily driver as I have.

I have a friend who does the same. His problem is that he runs a small business on the side that makes use of a very special App that is not compatible with iOS 11. Therefore, he has that on an iPad that he has not downloaded iOS 11 on.

The betas so far have been very stable and have only given me very minor glitches. However, my advice to anyone is to ensure that any Apps that you really need will run on the betas. I believe that a lot of developers do not update their apps until the Gold Master or final version of the operating system comes out. This means that you cannot actually trust an app to work at any given time.
