Would like to blow some dough should I get the 5k iMac or some other Apple product

Depends on what you intend to do with the machine and how long you wish to keep it.
I have had both 5K iMacs (top spec) and love them. I do general purpose work and some gaming (most-strenuous being Overwatch via Boot Camp).

I just want to buy something lol and I mean an iMac is more useful than some clothes from Neiman Marcus or something
The main advantage to the 5K iMac for me is the display. I stare at a screen for many hours a day and none is as easy on my 48-year old eyes as this one.
Therapy, I would buy some therapy.
On a more serious note, why not a nice desk setup for home? Monitors, desk, that sort of thing?

I haven't seen it yet (the 5k screen). Is it better than the retina display on the 13" MacBook pro's? (2015 model)
The 2015 MBPs do not have a Wide Color Gamut display like the 2015 iMac 5K. WCC was added to the 2016 MacBook Pro models (both with and without TouchBar). In terms of Pixels Per Inch, they're both about the same.
Can you please explain what a wide color gamut means? Like will I see more shades of the same color?
I don't understand exactly what the benefit is.

Ugh it's so long can you give me a photo one with wide color gamut and one that's regular so I can see if I can tell a difference?
There are photos that would demonstrate that, but you would need to view them on a display that supports that wide color gamut.

Vote yes from me. 5k retina iMac is a tremendous bit of kit. Make sure you go for all-SSD storage...
Or at least the larger Fusion Drives with the 128GB SSD component.
Buy Apple stock and put your money to work instead of wasting it.
The iMac 27 inch 5K Retina display is outstanding but there is not much 5K material to watch unfortunately. The 4K resolution is also fantastic. I love the 2560 x 1440p resolution as well. It's a beautiful screen. Personally I would go for a 512GB SSD for O/S and applications which will give you a fast boot up time + an external drive for further storage. The other components you would have to chose wisely but at least 8GB Ram. The components you chose will be for your needs but remember any upgraded components will seriously up the price of the machine. Have fun .
