A while ago, my friend hit the back of the iPhone really hard a couple of times using his palm and he was wearing a thick ring. He also put some pressure on the iphone, as if someone was sitting on it. I had a protective cover on the iPhone XR, which is shock-proof 3 meters. The case is called Sbs. Is the cover strong enough to absorb the shock? Should I be worried? I'm really scared and have been thinking about it for a week now. The iPhone worked fine, but after 10 days I had an issue with the camera. I realized that this issue began to happen after 2 days from updating to the ios 13.3.1 update. Whenever I unlock/lock my iPhone or use social media, I can hear a clicking noise from the camera. It's a sound as if the camera is trying to "wake-up or to focus". I then decided to restart the iPhone. After the update, that "clicking noise" began to happen when I'm using social media for 5 minutes and when I'm viewing stories on snapchat and instagram. The problem is that I keep hearing noises coming from the iPhone XR. It's not just from the camera. These noises began to happen 10 days after the incident of my friend. What do you think?"

It's this cover I had:

There is a person I also asked online about this situation and he works at an iPhone repair shop. He replied, "Yes. The phone is fine. I'm saying that hitting a phone a few times with your hand isn't going to hurt it in the first place."

Another person who works in a Microscopic board repair shop said online to me, "Your friend did no damage at all. If the phone is working as it should there is no need to worry especially since it is a single layer board unlike the X where the two board layers are connected by an interposer board. The clicking you here is from the camera, most likely when you are using certain apps. To my knowledge you can hear this on all XR, s some louder than others. I suspect this was always happening but only realised it because you where scrutinising the phone looking for a fault after it was sat on or dropped. I never paid attention to the click until I was made aware of it, now I hear it all the time on certain apps."

What do you think about what they said? Is it true that they are saying that what my friend did makes no damage to an iPhone XR? They said it needs more than that to cause damage, for example, a drop or a throw. I just want to know, in general, if what my friend did can make damage to an iPhone or not.

Thanks. I would really be glad if I get a reply.

I like the answers that you already have -- two likely-experienced repair "techs" say that you don't have any damage.
If you look too hard for physical problems on any device, you will eventually find "something".
It's time to move on.
Stay safe!

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate you help. But do you agree that they said that what my friend did make no damage to an iPhone XR at all, in general? Any damage that might concern you will be visible: cracked/broken screen. Dented/warped case.
So far, you have nothing (except a case that appears to have kept you un-damaged, up to this time)

You asked if I agree there is no damage. I cannot agree, as I can't see or touch your iPhone.
The important person to prove no damage is you.
No cracks or chips on the display? No dings or dips on the body of the iPhone? Good
Works as advertised? Again, good...
Stay safe!

These 2 repair techs said that, it needs more than that to cause damage any iPhone, in general. One of the techs even said that that hitting a phone a few times with your hand isn't going to hurt it in the first place. They said that it needs a drop or even a throw. Do you agree with that? You seem to say that what my friend did might have hurt the iPhone, which is against what they are saying.

I just want to know, in general, if what my friend did can make damage to an iPhone or not.

Why would you allow your "friend" to abuse your phone? Sounds like you need to choose friends that are a little more respectful to your property.. As far as damaging your phone, you have multiple opinions stating your phone will be ok. Don't go out of your way overthinking the situation. Asking strangers over and over on an internet forum until you get the answer you want isn't going to change the outcome. Your phone is fine, now you have a fourth opinion..

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it.

He just hit my iPhone XR a couple of times really hard using the palm of his hand and he was wearing two thick rings. The two thick rings look like this: https://cz.shadestation.com/navrhar-sperku/Diesel/DX0293

I had this cover when the incident of my friend happened: http://www.sbsmobile.it/en-gb/produ...hock-cover-for-iphone-x-unbreakable-line.html

So you mean that all that my friend did would make no damage at all to an iPhone XR?

Given that there is no visible damage and your iPhone is working normally, I do not think your friend caused any damage to it. Several trained technicians have told you the same thing. Several members of this forum have told you the same thing.

If I were you, I’d just enjoy my phone :)
