So I've been tinkering with the idea of getting an eGPU for my 2014 Mini, as I'm doing more and more FCP work on it for work. It does the job now, the time to render/export isn't too bad but making this quicker would be better, right? Also, I can salary sacrifice a laptop every year so I'm just waiting on the new MBP's to come out.

Soooooo, is my thinking of getting a TB3 with an AMD card (and a TB3 to TB2 adapter) for usage right now a bad thing? It should significantly make things quicker for now, and then when I get the MBP i can just use the TB3 connection as per normal?
