Would you buy a high-end iPad headphone amp that docks the ipad and gets the audio from the dock connector in digital form then runs through a good DAC?
Perfect for the nightstand.

I'm waiting on one as we speak. Bose needs to do it
Bose will not likely do it and would not be considered high end.

The width of the iPad and the depth of a slightly bigger Mac Mini. Priced at under $499 and will power the most demanding studio headphones.
Exactly. I am using an iPhone 4 with a pair of Shure SE 530's and they sound rather good. Of course an amp would be better but I find it hard to believe that many to most people want to drag an amp around and be considered mobile.
Forget Bose, they are pedestrian hi-end.
However, since the Apple camera connection kit already allows one to get audio out, by-passing the internal DAC and Amp, it may be redundant for Onkyo or Wadia to even make a transport. Perhaps they will make a dock instead (which would include a DAC and Amp).
That's great! it has totally gone by me.ok, sorted - just plugged in USB to my DAC and it works, cant believe this, brilliant!
How do you get audio out using the CCK, do you mean USB Out to headphones?
Thanks, from a newbie !
