Imagine that iPhone jailbreaking never existed, and that you had to just stick with the features Apple has given the iPhone. Would you still have your phone? Would you be the first one to whack it on eBay?

Just curious as to how reliant people are on jailbreaking.

As much as I love the added functionality from jailbreaking (and yes, the enjoyment/usefulness that I get from my jailbroken phone has increased exponentially from that of stock) I have to say that without these extras, the iPhone to me would still be the most full-featured and versatile smartphone/PDA on the market, so I would definitely stick with it.

Besides, as much as I love Windows on my tablet laptop, (sorry, OSX just doesn't do everything that I need to do) I have to say that after owning a BlackJack prior to the iPhone, I completely abhor Windows Mobile and all its crappiness. If you think you've experienced even a SLIGHT amount of lag from running things like Winterboard and tons of other MobileSubstrate based apps on a jailbroken phone, you don't know how good you've got it, because Windows Mobile is just atrociously laggy in and of itself.

I agree with jcd...... yeah. That guy.

The phone itself, as Apple intended, is the best looking and easiest to navigate phone with the best features I've encountered. There's no way I'd sell mine unless it was to fund a newer model with more great features.

I'd be disappointed that i could not jailbreak, but hands-down it is still (imho) the best software and physical design on the market right now and I would have no intention of ridding myself of it.

I agree with everyone else. I'd still keep it as it's seriously the best smartphone (for my needs) that I have seen so far. :)

It will never happen, but if it did I would sell mine.

I bought the phone because of how hackable it was.

Well I had the virgin iphone for about 8 -10 months, I was afraid of the jailbreak

Granted this was before the app store.....

Trust me, I now bang my head against the wall once in a while when I get reminded of my mistake. But now I couldn't live without my own customizations, and how much control do I have over EVERY single directory.. my mms, landscape sms, quick reply..omg the list goes on and on

To answer your question lol I will sell a virgin phone in a heart beat :)

without Intelliscreen, status notifier, SBsettings, clippy, etc., I most likely would have moved on to a BlackBerry by now. Those are basic, basic smartphone functions.

No

I wouldn't sell it. Jalibreaking has opened a whole new world to my phone, but even without it, the iPhone is still the most versatile phone out there. It has more to do than any other phone. Not to mention I LOVE games and it by far has more games than any other phone.

No, jailbreaking isn't a big deal for me. I don't do much with a jailbroken iPhone. When I had mine replaced I even kept it virgin until I decided I wanted it jailbroken.
