No way Jose. I'm not sure we'll be seeing names even for OS X (or macOS as I believe the new one will be know as) if they end up changing the naming structure.

I would say lose the 'X', but that has become iconic for Apple software. So maybe once a software becomes the 10th version call it ---- X and put a California code name at the end of it.

So:

macOS X Redwood
iOS X Redwood
tvOS X Redwood
watchOS X Redwood

Or:

macOS X
iOS X
tvOS X
watchOS X

And for marketing purposes they could simply call it "The new ---- X" or "The next ---- X"

As I would love to the name change from iOS 10 to iOS X instead of OS X to Mac OS, I would like to know your opinion.

Let's vote!
I think iOS should remain with its same numbering system and not skip 10. As for Mac OS, I think it should remain OS X (or officially Mac OS X) until they do an entire redesign like from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X. If that time comes, they could go with either Mac OS XI or Mac OS 11 and it would be along their lines of naming things in the past.

Edited to not sound rude.

As with Mac OS 9 -> OS X, this could happen with iOS just don't read the eX but read it as the roman number 10 like it was intended. Its not skipping 10 at all.
Ah, that is reasonable but for me just wouldn't flow right in my head. As with any of the nomenclature, though, I would get used to whatever they choose (probably).

The move from OS9 to 10 was like HUGE, and I don't think there's much room for change. Maybe if Apple were to replace x86 with ARM.
It'll be a cold day in hell before that happens though! :D

What's in a name? Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? I don't care if it's called SuperDuperGroovyOS, as long as it performs well for my needs then I'm happy.
