Would You Still Use Apple Computers If...

1 Mac OSX came on most computers

2 They were $1,000 more

3 Had more viruses than Vista

4 Apple was a terrorist organization (THEIR NOT!)

I wouldn't use apple computers if OS X came on most computers, but it is nice to have 1 company make most of the parts

If macs were 1,000 dollars more I would build a Hackintosh

I would still use my Mac if they had viruses but i would get virus protection

The last one i don't know about...

1. Absolutely yes. I see now reason to stop using a system, regardless of how successful it is. If it works, it works.

2. Yes. It would hurt more, but Apple computers last a heck of a lot a longer (eg: They don't begin to slowly age and die within six months nor require day-to-day and week-to-week maintenance)

3. Yes. There are two reasons I use Macintosh: Security & reliability. However on the former point: I used Windows for ages and in the end I only contracted, let's see, ummmm, NO VIRUSES. Much of virii contraction has to do with having a brain and using common sense.

4. No. I try to be a very educated, responsible buyer. Granted, once you start drawing the line sometimes you don't know where to stop but in this case I wouldn't wittingly give my money to a terrorist group, whether or not I receive a compensation for it.

Maybe. Every time someone mentions a laptop from Brand X that costs half as much as, say, a MBP, but is "almost" the same in terms of specs, I check it out and am disappointed that the person who said this was completely wrong. After you upgrade everything from the base model to be the same as the MBP, you may end up saving a few hundred dollars, but not as much as they say. Price differences also exist between comparable cars, clothes, etc. That's life. You can't always put a dollar price on objects based on specs alone.

Saying that, I'd buy whatever hardware was the best balance of performance, beauty, and price.

2 They were $1,000 more

$1000 more than a truly comparable piece of hardware? No.

3 Had more viruses than Vista

No.

4 Apple was a terrorist organization

No.

1. No, it would suck because there would many viruses, trojans, and attacks target toward it.

2. Yes, I'm already paying $1000 more, so I guess another $1000 couldn't hurt!

3. Vista doesn't have any viruses; it's just pirates and weak people who get viruses.

4. Of course; who wouldn't support terrorism?

1) No, somehow I don't see that working out too well.
2) Fat chance. No. I overpaid enough already.
3) Uhm no. Was that really even necessary to ask?
4) Oh sure why not. More the reason to support them.

I use my Mac and a Windows Vista machine daily. I'm not really 100% attached to OSX...more so the hardware.

So basically it'd have a lot of the same errors as Windows and $1000 more, but for something like $350 you can get it on a PC?
I'm not sure. Hmm... I'll have to think about this.
Obviously the quality of the hardware and costumer service will still be great, but it'd be $1000 more. I could always install a virus protector.
Great. I still need to think about this. >_<

*1 Maybe*_ Yes Because MAC OS is a great operating system, but no because I feel part of the reason it works so great is the hardware is made by apple too.

*2 yes*_ I just wouldn't (just like I don't now) have the latest stuff

*3 maybe*_ I love the simplicity of mac os and the design, but I haaate viruses. I would probably keep my mac for video and media stuff and find a maccy like version of linux.

*4 yes*_ you never know what steve is up too, even now.

1: Iffish. I would love to have OS X fully supported and legal on a machine I built myself.

2: Depends on the job I have. If I can afford it, perhaps. As it stands now, no.

3: If third parties have good A/V software out to mitigate the threat similar to what Windows developers wrote to protect Windows 2000 and Windows XP, perhaps. Since OS X is UNIX, it would have to be some sophisticated writing and a change of wind to get viruses commonplace on this platform.

4: Depends on what someone means by terrorist, as this word has been way overused, down to describing elementary school kids dropping Black Cat firecrackers down a sewer grate. I remember in ages past, people calling Linux users terrorist sympathizers because they were using a non MS OS (and thus not giving an American company revenue.) Assuming terrorist organization meant an organization dedicated to the destruction of America, its interests, and its way of life, then heck no.

1 Mac OSX came on most computers

Yes, as long as the security, stability and ease of use were maintained.

2 They were $1,000 more

No. I can barely afford Apple kit as it is, and if it was more expensive, it wouldn't have as much support in terms of software or compatible hardware.

3 Had more viruses than Vista

No. Windows is prone to viruses, the latest outbreak is evidence of this. It isn't viruses per se that are a problem, but malware generally, and to avoid this you have to have anti-spyware and anti-virus programs that regularly scan your machine and that are regularly updated. These things are an impediment to efficient working, with the stupid dialogs "Your virus checker is out of date" or "Your virus update cannot be completed" or "failure to contact the server" or even "virus scan complete, no viruses detected" etc. Why would anyone want this?

4 Apple was a terrorist organization (THEIR NOT!)

It's a bit of a stupid question IMO, but no. I stopped going into MacDonalds when I heard they were donors to NORAID. I wasn't a regular customer by any means, but I stopped then. I generally try to be an ethical consumer.

In a weird way, one of the things that makes me more kindly-disposed to Microsoft is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Using corporate money to make a big difference in Africa - awesome! Why don't more billionaires do this instead of buying super yachts to massage their egos?
