Revisiting my old Core Duo iMac from 2006.
It's currently running Snow Leopard, and was hoping to maybe go up to Lion.
Unfortunately, Lion is not free, so I just want to make sure it's worth going there.

How does it run on 10.7. Is it sluggish?

Note: While I can technically upgrade to an even more current OSX like Mohave, I think the overhead might be a bit much for this lowly Core Duo chip.

I'd stick with 10.6. Lion doesn't really offer anything Snow doesn't already have, and you'd lose Rosetta and the ability to run all those powerpc apps and games.

Cheers

If you haven't already, i'd suggest getting the Arctic Fox web browser so you have a secure and maintained browser. It's not perfect, but it's at least still updated regularly.

Hey thanks for the tip.
I really just use it for light admin and music server.
But, yeah the other browsers are pretty bad at supporting older OSes.
