That is a pretty amazing accomplishment, whether or not it makes sense to compete in such an area.

They consumed 300 pounds of raw lobster stuffing their faces in a contest. I'm not the most environmentally friendly guy on Earth, but that strikes me as a bit wrong. Around the turn of the century, lobsters were caught weighing 30 pounds as a matter of course - they didn't all weigh that much, but a lot of them did. Now, 1-2 pounds is normal. Anything over 5 is unusual. Seems to me like we've been eating too many of them....

It also says she won the bean eating contest days before... Phew I can't imagine what eating 8.4 lbs of beans does to your body. ;)

How do you think she flew from Indiana (bean contest) to Maine? ;)

Maybe she just eats at these competitions. :) (By the way, I am not surprised that she is single. ;))

Ok, look at those stats again,....this woman does not hold it down, there's no way she could at 105 pounds!!!!

D
That is unbelievable. Just unbelievable. It's not even a matter of holding it down - how does she fit it all in even for a few minutes? She's eating 10% of her body weight at a sitting. Incredible.

The recognized world eating/glutton champion is a 140 lb Japanese guy....

None of these people actually hold down the food... they purge immediately after the round.... Hence thats why they are called gluttons..

That's disturbing in a number of ways. What a waste.

Very true. Of course, the same could be said for anyone who consumes more than they need to maintain a healthy (whatever that translates to, I guess) bodyweight on a regular basis, or who throws food away (rather than up).

its a bit sad - and she's from my old home town, too.

I wonder if there is a purist following of the *sport* that only allows for all you can hold down ? :D

Not that I know of... They do disqualify you if you lose it on stage....
But once you leave the stage purging is done by everyone...

Sad very sad.

These people are stuffing their faces and chucking it up afterwards.
Two messages here

1. Stuff your face its ok
2. Throw up your food so you don't get fat - thats ok

That's sad. Notice how she ate 38 lobsters for a total of 9.76lbs.

Of course I realize that the shell is discarded, but still.

I've never understood eating contests. Of all the things to be competitive about. Ah well, what ever floats your boat I guess. Nothing worng with the free food either. She's going to have problems later in life if she goes all bulemic afterwards with as many contests as she's been in. Kinda sad if you think about.

She really has a passion for speed food contests. I wonder what she eats normally?
