Anyone tried out the Recommended settings in WoW 4.x for iMac 27" (i5, Radeon 4850)? Is there something wrong with the Recommended settings from Blizzard, or could it be something else?

Framerate is 20ish, and drops to around 16-18 in certain areas. If I turn off sun shafts and lower liquid (from good to fair) I gain aprox. 20+ more fps. Is this normal?

OS X 10.6.5.

Yeah ive noticed very crappy framerates especially in Orgrimmar. I go down to 6 fps at some points and its pretty annoying. So much for increased 3D gaming performance rom 10.6.5

To play the game fine I have to put the settings on fair settings not good settings.

Frame rate at Good: 16
Frame rate at Fair: 65

Computer specs:
iMac
os: 10.6.5
Pros: 2.8 i7
Mem: 8GB
Graph: ATi Radeon HD 4850

Turn off water reflection and sun flare effects. You then can run on high/ultra settings with 50-60fps. Hope this helps.
