Yes, i shamefully play WoW and I'm looking for a solution. I want to be able to play the same install of WoW in windows and OS X. Could i put the install on a fat32 partition, and play in both windows and OS X?

I know it doesn't need registry in windows, so that isn't a problem. Any ideas?

short answer is no

(long and psuedo-explaining part)
I would probably say it like this: if you were to consider the "calls" an application send to an operating system (example: show my a picture!), if everyone were to use english everyone would pretty much know what to do.

But windows compared to mac os x has calls which could be roughly explained as spanish - "demuéstreme un cuadro!" might be easy if you were speaking spanish, but it will not register for someone that only speaks english.

So even if all the calls in the application (in this case WoW) were at the same place the opwerating system wouldn't know what to do with it.

Solution: install WoW on your mac os x harddrive as well as in your fat32 partition and keep your add-ons up to date on both

Well, it might be possible to at least share some of the data between OS X and your Boot Camp partition. The majority of the disk space used by WOW is in the *.mpq files. I think common.mpq is about 4.5 GB on my system at home. These files contain all the game data which should be common between platforms. In theory, you could create links from your Mac WOW install folder to the mpq files on your Windows partition and effectively share the data between the two. The only problem I can see is when Blizzard releases a patch, it would try to patch the same mpq twice (once for each installation). Who knows what problems that might cause. Anyway, you might give it a shot if you really need to save that disk space.
