wow! Since updating to 18A371a this morning, my iMac has been a complete mess...

- Finder freezes about 10 minutes after the computer boots and is stuck on “not responding.” Forcing it to relaunch results in nothing. Finder disappears and does not come back.
- Firefox freezes after about 10 minutes and has to be force quit. Launching it again results in the icon bouncing for a while before giving up and again, not opening.
- Google Chrome opens but can’t load any webpages. Tabs just spin eternally before Chrome says that they aren’t responding and offers to let me “exit tab” which does nothing.
- Spotify is completely broken and loads a black screen upon starting. Force quitting it and trying to launch it again results in, again, a bouncing icon that eventually gives up and does not open.

I tried logging the iMac out, but apps "not responding" prevented this from ever working, so I forced powered it off. Powering it back on resulted in the same exact issues.

I know...I KNOW!! this is beta software, warranty is voided, etc etc. I'm not ranting, was just caught a little off-guard by how much broke in the latest update. it was buggy here and there before, but never this bad.
I'm just curious if anyone has experienced any similar issues?

my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) has 32 GB of RAM and a fast Intel processor, so it’s not a dinosaur. I wish I could tell you which Intel processor, but trying to launch “system information” results in the error message “The application “System Information” is not open anymore.” and clicking “about this Mac” the menu results in absolutely nothing.

I am trying to submit to Apple using feedback assistant, but it's been "collecting 2 diagnostic files" over almost 2 hours...
gotta love patch Tuesday!
[doublepost=1534876015][/doublepost]I am going to tentatively say that a THIRD reboot has fixed these issues, at least for now, though I'm not sure why it took that many times to get there. I'm guessing that all of those issues were caused by a single problem nested deep in the OS.
I'll leave the thread up just in case anyone else has been experiencing issues since the latest update.
[doublepost=1534877001][/doublepost]Update: about 20 minutes into the most recent reboot Finder has once again frozen. I'm not going to bother relaunching it because I already know what's going to happen. everything else is working.
Ah. Furthermore, anytime you go to open a file in an application, bringing open a file picker, this application also goes to hang and die.
makes no sense...

Update: since updating to 18A377a my iMac is all better.

I see frequent Finder freezes with the ol' ball. Another odd thing for the last three betas is that the system is restarting early in the morning. Not crashing, but just restarting. No clear log entries apart from the reboot. I know it's from a clean shutdown because iTunes does not have to rebuild its catalog.
Before that I had nightly PANICs with only a register log.
TimeMachine seems to exacerbate the problem.

Are you all running Mojave on iMac's? I'm running on a 5,1 cMP with no issues except for 3 updates ago when it would boot off of my startup drive until I few reboots and repaired permissions then it started working good.

I didn’t think we could repair permissions since the advent of SIP and removal from disk utility.

How did you repair permissions?

I had major issues with one of the DPs, I reformatted and went back to HS. It was definitely not ready for prime time when I tried it. Maybe things have improved.

wasn't the iMac Pro released in 2017
Sorry, I knew memory was failing me (and it's not like the 'about this Mac' window was coming up...). It's an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015).
[doublepost=1535464545][/doublepost]It's behaving much better after updating to 18A377a this morning. None of the original issues listed are present.
