Why on earth can't you scroll through pictures?? That's like one of the most basic and essential features of photo sharing! These "developers" and companies deserve to go bankrupt.

I disagree Instagram does exactly what it claims.

You can scroll through pictures.

No, you can't. You have to individually open and close each photo.

I disagree Instagram does exactly what it claims.

Regardless of what it claims to do, scrolling through pictures with ease (sliding, clicking arrows/buttons, etc) is one of the most basic and essential features of any photo sharing software. It makes absolutely 0 sense that the most popular photo sharing software on earth does not allow this basic feature.

And just another reason I don't bother with Instagram.

When you click a picture it's to comment on the picture. Now you're saying you want to scroll to the next picture, what you're essentially asking is to now horizontally scroll through pictures and the comments, NO THANKS

Just hit the back button and vertically scroll through the feed. Is that so hard?

I'm not talking about scrolling through thumbnails, I'm talking about scrolling through pictures

No, most people click the thumbnail to actually see the pic, not just to comment. So yes, it is stupid and inefficient that you can't scroll to the next picture.

If you're talking about scrolling through pictures when on someone's profile... you can.

Below the person's profile name/info ... there's 4 buttons.
One has 9 squares, the next has 3 lines, the next is the location service thingy, and the last one is a person in a box.

Press the button with the 3 lines and you can scroll.

Disclaimer: I don't know if I have the latest version of IG but i can't imagine that they would remove it

yeah it works

Thank you, best answer yet. However, you still can't browse pics w the ease with which u can in Facebook, with each picture in full screen.

I think this is isolated to the OP.
Instagram is far from poorly designed. It is a great deal of users that make that place a hot mess.

Yeah, but that's just an instagram thing. whether you open it individually or use the scroll method, the picture still stays the same size. I don't know why they did this but my guess is to keep picture sizes at a minimum

Calling an entire app poorly designed because it lacks ONE thing that you want is ridiculous. There is no way to justify that.

It's not just "one thing" it's the primary function of the software, to look at pictures.

Yes, and you can look at pictures just fine with Instagram. Just not in the exact way that you want to. That's no reason to say that the company "deserves bankruptcy". A little hyperbole, don't you think?

The most primitive photo sharing software includes some efficient way to browse photos, there is no excuse for this not to. It's not just my "preference", it should be expected.

It lets you scroll down through your feed with photos. It just doesn't let you zoom in on them from the feed. Calm down and go outside for a few minutes.

Exactly. So let me get this straight - the number one photo sharing software in the world does not allow you to: side scroll, zoom, copy/paste, view pictures in full screen or bigger than a relatively miniature square, or even save pictures? The only customization they allow is adding a cheap looking retro filter?

Stop using it and send them an email.
