Hello all,

I am putting WoW on my MBP.

Do I need to install WoW from the DVD in order to get everything correctly, or can I simply copy the entire WoW folder from my iMac over?

I am just not sure if WoW installs other settings outside the main applications folder, like it does on Windows.

Thanks.

You should be able to just copy the folder.

Not on my mac but you can check your user librabry>application support> for a wow folder. (control-shift-g then type ~/library if you are using Lion since libraries are hidden in Lion)

If you have access to fast internet, I'd recommend downloading the client from battle.net. Drag and drop might work, but downloading would be the "cleanest" approach.

It worked! I copied the folder to a portable drive and then onto the MBP, game launched and played without issues.

Compared to the slow install speed from a DVD and then the additional download of the latest patches, I saved about an hour :)

That's what I liked about the way Blizzard did that. Apps on OSX are like that but Blizzard made that same thing work on Windows. Whenever I would do a clean install of Windows all I had to do was copy over WoW to a external and then put it back. No install, everything was as it was before.
