falconeight and Typeface should get a room.. Typeface dismisses the guys opinions without even bothering to offer a coherent reply just one filled with rhetoric because he labels him a fanboy yet fails to see that he is one himself.

Thumbs up to the detailed posts above full of actually facts and interesting view points.

I'm sorry, but that's where you are wrong, nothing here is based on facts, merely opinions and taste, especially that long post I think you are referring to.

There's no right answer in choosing between iPhone or Android, it's all about personal taste and what works better for you, but when trolls come to a site about Apple products and iPhones and trash everything like there's no tomorrow (and not completely understand what a beta is) it's going to be a pointless argument.

We are here because we like Apple, iPhone and iOS, not because we hate it like many trolls here, I personally never go to Android/PC/Windows forums and talk trash about their products, that's the difference between people who like Apple (we mind our own business and are happy with are gadgets) and Android trolls (who love to trash everything Apple does just for the sake of being a troll).

I don't think anyone in this particular thread has been trolling. Passionately stating their opinions, yes, and maybe there were a few posters who were quick to dismiss or ridicule opinions they didn't agree with, but I don't think anyone just trashed Apple products without reason. Criticism doesn't equal trashing. So I don't think your bringing up trolling is relevant here, and it sure doesn't help keep the discussion civil.

Your right I wouldn't say trolling. I say its unneeded constant whining about people's personal styling preference.

Oh you think that, the topic of the thread is "Disaster" and have you read some comments, yes, they talk trash and yes they are trolls.

And calm down, I said "Troll", relax, it's not like I said "Bomb" on a plane.

Hahahahaha nice description.

More like a bunch of hyper-sensitive people whining and moaning about people with legitimate complaints discussing iOS 7.

There are a few extreme pov in any thread, but overall, I don't think posts in this thread are talking trash. I think there is a difference between being highly critical, and even whining and ranting, and talking trash.

So "disaster" might be an exaggeration, but I do think there are serious problems with iOS 7. If you think iOS 7 is perfect and any criticism of it is talking trash, please do us all a favor and stay out of threads with titles like "iOS 7 is a disaster."

Ugh. Just read an email on my phone in the mail app ((beta 3) that had several threaded replies in one email. The latest reply has a black font as expected. My previous reply is purple. Oh. The next oldest reply is aqua colored. Eww. And the rest of the older replies are bright green. The email looks like someone puked up a bag of Skittles on it.

Black, blue, green and red (very oldest) reply fonts and/or just plain old italics have worked just fine since iOS day 1, and beyond.

More change for change's sake.

iOS7. Taste the rainbow.

Oh no! Somebody said something bad about Apple, they must be trolls!

I think it's a disaster too, so add me to the 'troll' (Otherwise known as 'dare to say something bad about apple') list. All of the upgrades don't really matter if the icons look like the Powerpuff girls/my little pony puked all over them.

Well said, there were so many ways they could have improved upon iOS 6's design, basing it on a bad mix of my little pony/rainbow bright wasn't the way I was hoping or thinking they'd go..

Guess I'm a troll too..:p

Oh the drama it's so terrible. You might have to uninstall iOS 7 or move to another platform before you freak and hurt someone. :)

They could be temporary until final build. You're placing too much opinion on an unfinished beta, which has already seen many changes in each iteration.

The more I see of iOS 7 the more I like it. I haven't trialled it myself but like the video's and screen grabs that I have seen. Like anything though, people are going to dislike a certain example of styling and others will like it. For me I like it, so the negative opinions of it make no difference. No point arguing over it as nobody will change their opinion on something so personal to them. You can't force people to like something and you can't force people to dislike something they naturally like. :)

I'll ask again, what is your agenda? I have yet to see a single worthy contribution to any discussion from you. Are you that bored that you have nothing better to do than hang around one thread on an internet forum and heckle?

Yes, and the changes may have been done because of the feedback that Apple got from forums such as these. If we all sat quietly and waited and had the attitude such as "it is beta and surely they will change this..." we may never see any corrections/changes/adjustments.

To be CLEAR I'm referring to the UI in general. Bugs, slowness, etc are things that are common in betas and there's no reason to constantly post about those things.

Edit: Yes, I'm a troll that has made a living writing software for/with Apple products for more than 25 year.

I'd say there's a better chance of changes if the feedback is sent directly to Apple. 9to5Mac reported a while back that family members of Apple employees were being invited to HQ to do testing and provide feedback. My guess is Apple is not lacking in feedback. The issue is how much can get done before the new phone is released. Obviously priority #1 is making sure the software is as bug free as possible.

I'm not arguing that this particular thread or even MR is the best place to provide feedback to Apple, my point is that we SHOULD provide feedback by any and all means and that sitting on your hands waiting for change is fruitless.

Again, for the 1000 time, it's a BETA, nobody thinks it's perfect and again, read the title of the thread and, also, if you read more pages of the thread you will find some trolls.

The BETA BETA BETA BETA keeps getting thrown around like there will be any major design changes. At this point in ANY beta process is about refining and mainly bug fixes/stability/battery life. The look is locked down at this point. So YES , people have a right to complain because 99% of the design and look are not going to change between now and the GM.

So then what good does complaining on a internet forum do??

Vote with your dollars. If you hate iOS 7, don't upgrade, don't buy a new iPhone.

NOTHING anyone says on here is going to matter one bit in the end.

Exactly, nice sentence "Vote with your dollars" and I think people will vote, once again I can bet the iPhone 5S/6 will be the biggest sell out for Apple.

Do you guys truly think apple is taking recommendations from an internet forum like this?

Use apple's feedback system..somebody post the link please.

If you guys think Apple employees don't read the same sites and forums we do then I'm not sure what world you are living in.

You can name call all you want. Those of us that actually want to have an intelligent debate will do so. My point about the BETA comment is that everyone is telling people concerned with the design to sit tight its just a beta. Even though during this point in the beta process design is locked down. So yes the concern is legit even if this is a BETA.

Its a pretty popular forum I'm sure there are apple engineers on here who might pick up on an idea.
