Wow. Just wow. Please help. Unable to eject the install dvd

So I am selling an older iMac (2008) that originally shipped with Tiger but have since lost that install disc. I used a Snow Leopard (thinking it was Leopard) disc to zero out my data and because of that I am unable to eject the install dvd. Basically the system is incapable of installing Snow Leopard and because it is running on the disc itself (zero'd out my data) the dvd cannot eject. Every single traditional route of ejecting the disc has been tried and I have spent some time on the phone with Apple trying to get it taken care of. I have since made an appointment at my Apple Store for tonight but me being me would rather get it done now. Any suggestions?

If holding the mouse button down while rebooting doesn't do it, the only other thing I can think of is to boot off of an external USB that has a copy of OS X that your computer can boot and then eject it (which is probably what the Genius Bar will do).

Just try installing SL and then ejecting your disk and then use the correct one to reinstall tiger.

if it's not against your ethical nature, go and download an image of OS X from a reliable torrent site and then restore the image to a USB drive or external HDD. Then you can hold down the Option key at boot and boot to that.
Have you also tried to hold down the option key at boot and then hit the eject button when the boot option appear?
I would try everything and anything before paying $80 to remove a disk.

BTW, a copy of OS X SL only costs $29 at the apple store, you may as well just install it and sell it with SL rather than paying Apple a disk ejection fee lol

So when an Apple associate essentially chastises you for not owning an Apple Mouse while at the same time telling you to restart the iMac while holding down the RIGHT mouse button one would think they have tried everything. Obviously not. Thank you.

One other question. Now when the buyer receives the iMac and turns it on they will see a white screen with a Folder icon flashing in the center of the screen. They will be restoring from a Time Machine backup. Will they be able to do this with not too much of a hassle?

No. They will need a copy of OS X on it, so they can restore from time capsule. Or at least an OS X disc of the same version that the time machine backup was made on.
