Hi!

I keep getting disconnected from WOW.I can move around but I cant do any actions.

Even when I try to logout or exit game it doesnt work.I have to force quit.

Any Idea?

Throught a wireless router.Im in a hotel for 2 weeks now and i never had any problems before this.

My brother has the same problem when he is at my parents flat. He also connects wirelessly through their router. Strange thing is, only WoW disconnects, a TS connection stays established though.

When we tried to explore the problem, we realized that the router disconnected after short times of no network activity. We then turned this off, which made the periods between disconnections longer, but the problem persisted.

I still don't know the reason yet and wonder if I'll have the same problem when I go there and try this with my new MBP...

You might want to give Lighthouse a try.

It's essentially port-mapping that turns on and off as you need it, and since you don't have access to the port-forwarding controls on the hotel's router, this is the next best thing.

I play WoW wirelessly, and haven't had any issues since I started using Lighthouse.

Thanks!!!

It hasnt disconnected once tonight with lighthouse...and for 12$ its worth it!!

Tanks alot!!

I dont see what this thing does? If I already have a good connection will this improve it? And also will this bypass the router issue with hosting games on SC and WC3?

Im not sure either but Since i installed it I dont get DC.Before i was getting disconnected every 30 minutes.

When you can move and not do an action just means your client has disconnected but it doesnt know it's disconnected. Usually takes it a minute or two to figure it out. Thats also why you can't log out, because logging out requires your connected. When I used to play wow and raid and this happened id forcequit and reload (well actually id alt f4 cause i was on windows) because it was faster way of getting back in.

Heaven forbid I didnt get back in time before the boss died and I miss that epic id been waiting to drop for 6 months. god I hate wow ~!

Lighthouse uses the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) settings of your router to do a temporary port forward (while you're playing wow). All that means is it takes all of the back and forth traffic on the WoW ports and sends them specifically to your computer.

I'm sure a Hotel router has lots of people joining and leaving and surfing doing all kinds of other stuff. One wrong move, and your connection is probably toast. Lighthouse just helps the router do it's job for you, better.

Hi,

Yes, excatly the same problem happened to me in diablo 2. But I don't live in a hotel. Strangely this was happening even when my internet connection was at maximum(no one was using it, exept me).

Lighthouse? Sound good, but I don't have a credit card to buy it.
Is there a similar app for free?

I'm having the same issue, however it isn't as frequent as yours. It started lastnight (my internet was also running extremely slowly. Both on my MBP (wireless), and my moms desktop (wired)).

I'm playing in Dawnbringer if that makes a difference.
