So i just installed, and updated a half dozen times, World of Warcraft and I am happy to say that so far it runs good. I dont have it on the highest setttings, but it doesnt lag at all, it does run a bit smoother inside buildings thou. All in all, it runs the same as on my former PC. Highly Recommended.

It all depends on what you're used to. I certainly consider WoW playable on the new SR Macbooks but in comparison to my former PC gaming rig and my new iMac 2.4 or even to the MBP's it's not even close.

Playable yes....great? I don't call 5-10FPS in Shatt with all settings turned all the way down "great" personally. :)

It does what I need it to do though, only time I'm on WoW on the laptop is in those few trips I take...99% of my game time is on my desktop.

Hey Joe... how much RAM do you have on your macbook?

I just bought one last night with 2GB. I hope that's enough. I'm also looking to play a little WoW on it too :D

Older G4 PowerBooks w/ dedicated video give similar FPS to X3100

i play on my powerbook and get about 40fps so im sure it will run good with 2gb of ram on the macbook

Check this out. From Bare Feats. It's not Wow but..

UT2004 Botmatch, 1280x800
Macbook 2.2 w/ X3100 2 GB RAM is 19 FPS

UT2004 Botmatch, 1024x768
PowerBook G4 1.5 w/ Radeon 9700 128 MB is 24 FPS
PowerBook G4 1.33 12" w/ FX 5200 64 MB is 20 FPS

Not every game is the same, but I don't see the 3100 being that good for any 3D games at native or near native resolution. Even WoW can get pretty hectic at times. Sure it's perfect when you're killing boars in the forest. :)

If you've got to be a mobile gamer, go for any Core 2 MB Pro you can get over the MacBook, even an older one.

I'd say the best gaming value for a new mac is probably the 20" 2.4 iMac.
