I have a MB and while I have a supped up desktop at home, I get bored at work sometimes and wouldnt mind doing mundane tasks in WoW.

I have searched for the answer to this question, but many of the responses were right after Boot Camp came out and almost all of them stated that the differences would prolly be obsolete once proper versions and stuff were made and drivers yada yada.

Should I install on OSX or Windows through Boot Camp? Is it really that noticable?

I run WOW on OS X. Never bothered to run the Windows version even though I have it installed and I never will. I prefer to use everything OS X native if possible.

Right now it's seem that the XP verison got a edge in perfomance. It feel more stable in FPS, and seem to handle the max graphic option with more ease.

I also have a MP, and I was pleased with the performance boost that I had. If XP is already on your machine, just give it a shot. It's worth it.

I'd definitely leave it in OS X for three reasons. I prefer being able to window mode the game with a simple key command, especially at work and I'd rather be using OpenGL as it has always seemed easier on the eyes with textures and text. I could just be biased. Also, I hate windows.

Blizzard apprently keeps optimizing it for OSX (in addition to windows) so I would stick with OSX, the performance should keep getting better. If it sucks, then you could always THEN install Boot Camp!!

I tried both and as much as I hate booting into XP to play one game I think it's worth it. I'm running it on 1.83 MacBook 2GB RAM.

I've heard that WoW runs significantly better in Windows on the mac, however they have released a lot of updates since the first side-by-side comparisons, and things may have changed.

And things will get better... *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

There are more performance gains on the way which will increase performance a fair amount, from Apple.

Im waiting some fix for new MBP with geforce 8600 GT.
It seems WoW is running fine only with MB and MBP without new chipset.
Unfortunatly these new machines are too young, so its still too hard to find someone with it to compare the performances.

IMO, the only reason to play in Bootcamp is if you have to have ventrilo with a GSM server. You can do it in OSx, but it's certainly not pretty.

OSX all they way!! My MBP runs a little hot but its very stable and like the option of running full-screen or windowed with a key-command. I just loaded WOW on my Dell XPM Machine and the Fans run full bore the whole time with my XP, 1G Ram and 256MB Video. Almost too loud! Even though my MBP runs around 170 the fans are a spinnin but still quiet!

Bill.....:apple:

put it on os x, it runs just as well as windows. Also you get things like built in itunes support and can run it in a window.
