So yo get hit on the back and you get stunned for what seems like an eternity, by the time you regain control of your char you only have like 10 or so hitpoints. The rogue then sneezes and you fall to the floor, dead... without even getting a chance to fight back. Am I a whiner or is this incredibly unfair?

its completely fair. if you see a rogue before they can stun/hit you, killing them is pretty easy. without stealth, they would be pretty useless

I think they do have a big advantage in the 10-19 bracket, especially when twinked. Dual-wield with Fiery on both daggers.

But in higher brackets, it's more balanced, especially once you get to 40 with a warrior. Plate + Phantom Blade + aforementioned trinket = rogues? Pff.

Every class has strengths and weaknesses.. you just need to figure out how to play against all the different classes and builds if you want to be a top pvper.

In the BGs, sure that rogue might get you stunlocked for an eternity, but how many cooldowns did he use? How long until he can do that again?

Also, you must have been alone. If you are a soft target, you need to try and avoid that.

If you only have greens or worse, your not going to last long. Make sure you have lots of stamina, no matter what class, as that will keep you alive longer.

On my 49 twink hunter, the way I counter rogues is to put up a flare and put an ice trap down in the middle of the flare and stand on it. Most rogues will avoid me or wait till I start moving.

My 70 mage would do a frost nova and blink. Then I can either sheep the rogue and run towards someone with better armor on my side or try to 1 v 1.

My 70 feral druid would switch into bear and would stand a good chance to win 1 v 1 with a rogue.

If your a priest or lock, you have fear.

If you are a warrior, you have fear and stun

I would recommend that you read up on all the classes on www.wowwiki.com. Check out some of the wow podcasts (world of warcast, wow addons, the instance, for example).

Good luck!

Well my char is a Druid, but the problem is that I can't switch into bear in time because I'm stunned... but you make some good points. Anyway, my biggest complaint is that I can't understand how I'm being stunned when I'm running full speed using travel form  , I mean, what's up with that? Also, I didn't know about the trinket... Can we at least say that rogues have a slight advantage over druids?

no since you can go cat form and pretty much do what rogues do.

i haven't played as a druid in a long long time, but i thought shapeshifting broke snakes and such? unless thats been changed

the trinket will help. a lot. even with its cooldown.
when i was playing my druid i didn't have much of a problem with rouges to be honest. you're both leather wearers and the druid can heal himself so that helps quite a bit. if you're balanced spec'ed you can entangle him when he hits you. or pop a potion as soon as your out of stun lock, entangle roots, go bear form or cat form and rip him to shreds. your thorns should be doing some damage on him too from the start.

The 1 on 1 game in WoW is very rock-paper-scissors, so don't base your arguments around it. Group play allows the dynamics to tease out much more. You'll find the rogues have plenty of situations where they're weak or underpowered compared to certain other classes. 5v5 arenas would be one.

I have a pretty easy time of what little pvp'ing I do on my 70 lock, except when I duel a rogue. One that can deal serious damage is tough when you are incapacitated. I try and seduce and then get off a deathcoil and fear ASAP.
