Just wanted to get an idea of what's going on...

When everyone first started complaining of this, I wasn't affected at all. Then, about 8 weeks ago, I was hit with it. It started out as very small occasional glitches where world items or players would suddenly "stretch' and look like they turned into horns. After a week of being intermittant, It went overnight from occasional to full time.

I pulled the vid card out, removed the heat sink and put arctic silver between the sink and the GPU and made VERY sure the heatsink/fan intake was clear and not blocked. This solution only enabled the computer to play WoW for a whole extra 2 or 3 minutes before artifacting started.

I then downloaded smcFanControl, and when gaming I turned the fans to medium setting. This worked for another week, when suddently even that would still give me the artifacts after about 30 minutes.

Now, the fans run full blast when gaming. The Mac Pro sounds like a fricking FA-18 at takeoff and is annoying as hell :( and I still get artifacting.

So.. What is apple doing?

I called... they set stuff up.. and then didn't ship a vid card for a week due to some idiot (named tom) botching the job.
After a week, I called back (discovering the botched job) and fixed it. They shipped the part the next day.
The part arrives 3 days later and to my suprise, I now have a power supply to a 17" Imac G5.
Another call to apple to get this fixed. X1900 is back ordered.... 2-3 weeks.
Email Blizzard on their thread with details, they contact apple. Nothing heard back from them since.

Yay Me....

After several phone calls and letters to execs at apple, my card was shipped. (8 days after it was ordered)

I'm going to have WoW running all day to day, everything maxed out and see if it's fixed for sure.

Crap it's patch-tuesday. I'll start at 11am :)
