At my computer
I am using my friends new iPod Classic 80 gig because I was putting my library on it as he has basically no music to his name. But I was noticing how quiet the Classic HD is compared to my 5th gen. When I go to play a song on my 5th gen I can feel the player rumbling and I can hear the player actually reading and the HD kind of clicking popping whilst reading the data. On the classic I can only feel a slight rumble and I can't hear the HD reading at all. My what 3 years of technology can change!

I have a 5th gen, and do notice the HD noise often. I haven't been around the Classic long enough to try to notice such a thing. Maybe it has something to do with the aluminum? Perhaps that muffles the sound better than the plastic on th 5th, 4th, and older iPods.
