I really want an iMac.

The head of music at my school (who is a complete legend) has just bought one. He was always poking fun at me for having a Mac *anorak user* and stuff like that. When I asked him what he thought of it (base model with upgraded RAM), even he had to admit that it was VERY VERY fast...

I used a 24" last weekend, and it absolutely screamed. I want one! I WANT ONE!!!!

I just got my 20' inch G5 back from when all its guts kind of, well, blew up.
So I'm thinking about getting my self a c2d one to have sat next to it just in case, I can't go another month without working again. 2 machines it is from now on I think. We got 8 in at work and they really do perform don't they, so maybe its that or a Mac Pro, we'll see. But kudos to you and your new machine.

Just ordered my new iMac, to replace an old PowerPC G4, 400 MHz. I'm expecting SUCH a big performance boost. Reading some issues people were having with the C2D iMacs I was getting worried, even though rationaly I can understand that most people who are happy will not post. Anyways, thank you for boosting my confidence in my new machine.

I have to share my experience with you guys. I bought my first mac, an iMac C2D 2.33, 2gb memory, 500 gb. OMG this thing is unbelievably beautiful and fast. No dead pixel, no wireless problem, no loud noise. It connected to my wireless router just like a radio picks up a radio station. All i needed to do was typing my password. And that's it. I could not find anything wrong with this computer, it is so unreal. I never had this kind of experience with PC.

my gf recently got a 17" core duo imac to replace her G4 powermac (and we sold the G4 for more than we paid for the iMac... heh heh heh), and I have to agree - the intel iMacs rock. It's an awesome machine in everyway. I'm sure the C2D models are even quicker. :)

My 2.0 GHz DP G5 is still considered a damn schweet workstation for most pro applications, so getting even faster processing, PCI-e GPU and a beautiful display with the iMac's form factor is a bargain.

Oh yeah, G5's are still sweet machines!
