I'm writing a Christmas greeting letter for friends and family in Pages (version 8.1/MacOS 10.13.6) and I'd like to spice it up beyond the pure text with some colourful background, a frame, clip art graphics or whatever. Something cheerful, happy and pretty.
I'm not a graphic designer so I'm thinking a template would be in order for this.

Beyond the few that come with Pages itself, are there free or low cost templates available for this?

Another thing: I've tried adding some clip-art "shapes" from those built into Pages, and see that the text moves around them. I'd like to put some snowflakes or something in the background but even right-clicking those shapes and selecting "Send to back" doesn't prevent this from happening. Is this possible to do at all?
Do I need to put an entire background image behind the text if I want to do it?

I'm also open for other suggestions on how to make a nice Christmas letter within Pages :)

Select your shapes, open the Arrange tab (in the Styles options), and change the Text Wrap to None.
