WTF Gmail??

What the hell is up with gmail? it didnt work before so i restored my iphone, now my aol account works fine but when i try to set up gmail it says cant connect using SSL so i try to set up the account without SSL and it says the POP server pop.gmail.com isnt responding should i go to other and fill that out instead of just selecting gmail? Also, why in holy hell does AOL mail not have a drafts folder???

For gmail, the POP3 server requires SSL on port 995 and the outgoing SMTP requires TLS on port 587.
