Hello,

With WWDC '08 announced, what are everyone's hopes?

I'm hoping for a Mac OS X 10.6 preview and maybe a home server.

Perhaps we might see another Mac App being ported to windows.

Discuss...

10.6 would be cool, but then my OS would seem outdated.

I'm hoping for 3G iPhone, I'm hoping to get one in June as a grad gift and I'd love to have the latest and greatest.

I'd be surprised if we got a 10.6 preview, but then you never know. I think that'll be left until Macworld 09 or even WWDC 09. Apple wouldn't want people thinking they we're just trying to get their money out of them.

I want a new Mac, so I'd like something of that.

Some new displays would be nice.....

I think Apple got their screens right years ago.... if it aint broke dont fix it.... and if it doesnt need upgrading, why bother? We'll probably see more price falls though...

I'm looking to get a new MBP, as i've had mine for approx 2 years now.... I wonder if they'll announce quad-core MBPs? ;) That would be sweet:apple:

Saying that... look how old the MacBook Pro case is.. http://web.archive.org/web/20030207194800/www.apple.com/hardware/video/powerbookg4_012003.html - thats from like 2003! And it's still beautiful

I doubt they'd do any sort of home server. Unless they can market it in such a way that your granny would want to buy one. I don't think that's possible.

Apple has said that it's "A landmark event. In more ways than one.". That leads me to think that the WWDC has something to do with geographic locations, landmarks, could be GPS? An iPhone with GPS possibly?
In their email there was a picture of 2 bridges, so Apple is potential building bridges, to where? To Windows? Maybe they'll enable the execution of Windows binaries on OS X. We know that Leopard already tries to load DLLs.

I'd like:
Announcement of a 3G iPhone
New displays, or at least a price drop
iTunes movies, TV shows and rentals for Europe (if not before WWDC).

I wouldn't like:
As I'll be moving to Leopard from Tiger in two weeks, I'd hate to see 10.6 announced already.

I'm pretty sure it will be mostly about the iPhone Apps/SDK. It is the in poster, the 2.0 update will be released by that time, and it takes time for Apple to think more about 10.6 and let people get more into Leopard.

That would be interesting...but not likely. What would be the point of Mac native software if that ends up being the case.
Erm, because Windows apps look like ****. Anyway, Apple is in the business of selling computers, Windows binary compatibility would help more people switch. Just like bootcamp and VMware have done.

I would like:

New cinema displays
3G iPhone I suppose
Penryn iMacs
Penryn Minis
Another substantial Leopard update :p

I would not like:

10.6 (Too soon)
more support dropped for 10.3.9, in the form of "new updated application X!!"

10.6 is a long way away. I think we will see a preview in June 09.
