when does apple usually announce dates for WWDC? i'm trying to plan my summer vacation but don't want to double-book.

thanks!

why are they taking their time announcing it this year? i hope it doesn't get pushed to august again.

Maybe they are seeing how long the delay on the SDK will be until they set a date. They might make the iPhone as a key part of the conference like Leopard was a few years ago.

That makes sense about being delayed by iPhone SDK.
But I really hope that iPhone SDK doesn't get Leopard-like focus at WWDC08; to me iPhone is still a niche platform compared to the mac hardware and shouldn't get disproportionate attention, even though it is undoubtedly going to be the "cool new thing".

i don't see how that would make sense unless the SDK is delayed until june-august. they've set a deadline for themselves to release it by end of february so pushing it all the way to june+ and drag WWDC with it would be a bit excessive, even for apple.

Still no announcement. Past years the dates seem to have been announced early-/mid-February. In 2006, the year WWDC was held in August, the dates were announced March 7th. Since we're past that date now, is this indicative of an August timeframe for WWDC 2008?

i really hope not, but based on that, it could even be later than August!

i'm assuming it is due to the iPhone SDK, but they said June, so hopefully WWDC will be in June. we'll see

i would hope they'd have it on time for iPhone 2.0 and AppStore official announcement. unless they're already planning on delaying those too.

you just never know with :apple: apple...

they have yet to announce when the "special" pricing ($1295) expires. i thought they announced it along with WWDC dates last year, no?
