Hi

Is there a way of watching the WWDC event live on your ipad?

I know you can subscribe to Apple's podcasts which will be available tmrw but is there a website of way of watching it live.....tonight in the UK....

ok thanks, ill probably just watch it on pc then via ustream or engagdet website.

thanks

... I feel like that's not true. I'm pretty damn sure that's not true actually.

at the moment this is the only proof I have. taken from TUAW in 2008

Unless you live under a rock (sorry if you're a TUAW-reading snail), then you have probably heard about the Apple event scheduled for today. Since Apple doesn't live-stream their press events any more, we must sit around our Macs, constantly refreshing our browsers ... just like people did in the 'ole days (personally, I can't wait for the Morse Code Apple updates).

Actually..... I remember when the Mac Mini was announced, I was working 10-7 at an ISP and had the Keynote streaming on the Apple site... That was back in 2005.

You got a link to a good ustream?

You won't find one until after the event's started. I'm sure Apple will have their legal arm on the phone to Ustream as soon as one appears. That's usually what Sky Sports do with football streams, after all...

That's so strange. I feel like I always had to wait a few hours after WWDC or Macworld to see the keynote.
I can't remember when they actually stopped (post 2000) but macworld at least was absolutely streamed live. It used to be great to get up early in aus and watch them as it happened and discuss it simultaneously*. Still disappointed that they don't do it anymore. I never bother to watch a keynote anymore. Just read about it.

*used to go to the computer labs at uni at 3am. It was replete with computer nerds that I would see only at apple events, talk like old friends, and never see in between. It was great.

I'll be watching Leo Laporte's TWiT Live stream at live.twit.tv
He streamed the January event from his Macbook but didn't get invited back to WWDC (I wonder why )
IMO it's the next best thing to an official stream which won't happen :(

They definitely did. In fact, they used to broadcast the satellite feed to Apple Stores that had theatres. I remember watching the 2002 MacWorld New York at one of them.

I *think* the last live stream of an Apple event was the MWNY 2003 keynote.

Well Leo isn't going to be covering the event - he has a prior commitment. Tom Meritt is going to be in the chair and probably getting the same information most of us are getting through the various live blogging websites. Last I heard, nobody officially affiliated with TWiT is going to be at the event doing any sort of live streaming.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B367 Safari/531.21.10)

If you had only typed a few more question marks, a live stream would have magically appeared on your iPad. Sadly, 6 is not enough.

I dont think Apple have forgiven them for their Live coverage from the iPad launch yet! :)

I've got a list of the sites I know of covering the events iPad-Review WWDC Coverage
